When a UK school reviewed its energy costs and sustainability objectives, it identified on-site solar as an effective way to reduce electricity spend while supporting day to day operations. A 120kWp solar PV system was installed to align with the school’s daytime electricity usage across classrooms, lighting, IT systems, and shared facilities.
The system now delivers clear financial and environmental benefits:
Schools typically have high daytime electricity usage during term time. Where summer demand is lower, export arrangements or battery storage options can help maximise the value of generated solar energy while supporting long term carbon reduction goals.
